THE ringleader and two accomplices in a seven-man gang terrorising home and business owners in the northern suburbs have been put behind bars.

The ring leader, known in the criminal underworld as “Marble Eye”, was arrested by the Combined Action Team (CAT).

Marble Eye and his gang are allegedly linked to nine cases of business and house burglaries in the northern suburbs, specifically in the Allandale, Raisethorpe and Orient Heights areas.

Marble Eye was arrested during the early hours of Friday.

Following up on information after the arrest, CAT members also arrested two other men from the gang.

During the early hours of Sunday, the third suspect, believed to be in his late twenties, was arrested in Taj Road, Raisethorpe after he allegedly broke into two vehicles there.

The suspect is said to be allegedly linked to six other incidents of theft out of motor vehicles within a space of three days last week. Four men from the gang are still at large.

Officers recovered cellphones, a car, car batteries, a CD player and four speakers. The men are expected to appear in court soon.
