Change ‘Love to Live’ venue

2017-03-29 06:03

WE are approaching that time in the year where the annual “Love to Live” campaign normally takes place.

As far back as I can remember the usual three-day affair is held over a weekend at the Protea Sports Complex.

Having being regular at most of the events I noticed that bus loads of people and schoolchildren are brought from areas outside the northern suburbs, and the actual number of locals attending is, in comparison, very small.

There are so many other sports complexes in the southern and western sides of town, wouldn’t it be nice if, for a change, the event is held in the other side of town.

Many participating children regard the campaign as an “Indian thing” - a perception that the director seems to be perpetuating.

I, for one, would love to see how the people in the other sides of our city “love to live”.
