THREE of the funniest men and women in comedy are heading to Pietermaritzburg to perform in Crazy Funny! at the Golden Horse Casino at 8 pm on October 14.

Hosted by the casino and On Fire Entertainment, the line-up includes Khanyisa Bunu, who opened for Trevor Noah on his most recent South African tour, and Durban comedy stalwarts Masood Boomgaard and Neil Green.

They say that dynamite comes in small packages and Bunu is no exception. One of the hottest comediennes in the country right now, she may be short and unassuming, but put her on stage and she’ll likely bring the house down.

Refreshingly honest and 100% clean, her unique comedy style has wowed audiences across the country, and earned her the Savanna Audience Choice Award.

Whether regaling you with stories about growing up in the Eastern Cape, her crazy life in Johannesburg, awkward in-flight chit-chat, or her mother’s love of soap operas, Bunu is likeable and funny.

Boomgaard has been performing since 2007, and has shared the stage with pretty much every top local and national act.

With his unique, clean brand of Durban-centric humour that appeals to a wide range of audiences, he has toured all over the country and recently appeared in the international comedy tour Straight Outta Africa, which enjoyed sold-out shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

After almost nine years in the industry, Green’s sharp wit, commanding stage presence, packed-out one-man shows (I’m Ill) and hilariously honest take on life have won him legions of fans throughout the country.

He is currently on a countrywide tour with three of SA’s biggest comedians as part of the Johannesburg International Comedy Festival’s Trending Comics.

Tickets are R120 at Computicket.
