PIETERMARITZBURG partygoers are in for good times this festive season as gigs await them in some venues around the city.

Local jazz musician and event organiser Nkanyezi Cele told Echo that these events will start with deejays such as Nka, Cee, Lunch Box and Collen Zondo, who will take turns entertaining with “old-school” music and jazz at Cubana on 15 November.

The event starts at 1pm and last “until late”.

Entrance is free and dress code is smart casual.

Known for organising the Pietermaritzburg Jazz Festival, Cele promised that similar events are in the offing for Pietermaritzburg music lovers.

“People always go to places like Durban for entertainment at this time of the year, but now they will find it is all here.

“We are planning to bring a number of jazz musicians to Pietermaritzburg, including Bheki Khoza, Andile Yenana, McCoy Mrubata, and others,” said Cele.
