First chamber to launch business app

2017-05-03 06:01

THE Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business is understood to be the first chamber in South Africa to have launched its own App. While it can be downloaded by members and non-members, only members are able to promote their businesses via the PCB App.

Speaking at the launch, PCB CEO Melanie Veness said the key motivation behind the App is to communicating immediately and directly, no matter where people find themselves.

The App is loaded with a host of functionality features. These include outward communication via push notifications to allow the communication of important messages affecting business, such as power or water outages; inward communication to contact the PCB during office hours by mail or phone via the App, awareness of PCB events through offers or geo-fences, advertising for PCB members to fellow-members and the public in the form of special offers, and driving traffic to websites.

“The App is a great platform for members, because it broadens your reach,” said Veness.

“We hope you’re as excited as we are and hope members will encourage everyone you know to download the PCB App,” she said.

The App also allows for reward vouchers to be issued, both for loyalty and App referrals that entitles one to a prize draw.

The App is available in the App store for Apple and Google Play Store for Android through the link: http://wsu.ma/pcb
