Former Eastwood pupil and resident joins Eagles

THE former Eastwood Secondary pupil and Eastwood resident Enver Wiltwer has joined the local national first division outfit, Royal Eagles.

The former Free State Stars and Chippa United midfield genius confirmed he has officially joined Eagles on a one-year contract.

Wiltwer says joining the Eagles family was a good move and although he is excited, he is not expecting it to be easy.

“I am happy that I’m now a Royal Eagles player. Although I may be taken as one of the experienced players because I played for a couple of PSL teams in other provinces, I am prepared to work hard to earn a place in the team and contribute positively to take the team to dizzying heights.”

His move was made possible by his elder brother Lloyd, who doubles as his agent.

“I would like to thank my big brother for handling my negotiations in a good manner in order to open doors for me.
“Also the support I had from family members, friends and neighbourhood was positive, and I ask local soccer followers to always support us when we play games at Harry Gwala Stadium.

“Royal Eagles is a local team and there are handful of local players.”

A few months ago Wiltwer was expected to join Mthatha Bucks, but Eagles outsmarted them.
