Help requested in attempted hijacking

2016-08-31 06:00

MY sister-in-law is visiting from Canada and was driving from Johannesburg to visit us in Wartburg on Saturday.

The GPS took her through to Church Street in Pietermaritzburg where, while waiting for the traffic light to change, a car cut in front of her in the gap she left between herself and the vehicle in front.

Two gentlemen got out and the vehicle in front obviously thought he was going to be hijacked and took off through the traffic lights, but actually they came to try get into my sister-in-law’s vehicle.

Because the front vehicle had moved, she was thankfully able to squeeze past the hijackers’ vehicle and sped off, only to be chased by these guys at 160km/h along Greytown Road, all the way to Wartburg, where they finally left her when she turned in at the houses.

If anyone got the registration number or can help with identifying the vehicle they can email jandav@pol ka.co.za

It was a “newish” model white Mazda. She was driving a silver Mercedes. We would really appreciate any help.
