KZN Inland cricket team win Africa T20 Cup

2017-10-04 06:03

WINNING the Africa T20 Cup on September 25, means the KZN Inland cricket team has won three cups this season.

This was revealed by KZN Inland coach Shane Burger at the celebratory dinner that was held on Monday at the Oval.

“I know we will be the first team in the country to win all the trophies in one season. It won’t be easy, it will take hard work to do, but I know we will do it. We want to continue making you [Pietermaritzburg] proud,” said Burger.

KZN Inland captain Lefa Mosina said winning the T20 cup is special because they didn’t do well last season and in the 2014/2015 season they lost in the finals.

“It hurt us that we didn’t win the trophy. We put so much effort and work into it this year and that’s what makes it extra special to us.

“It has always been our goal to win trophies, but the one thing that has always let us down is when we lose cups in the semi-finals or finals. We are now working hard to overcome that and win.

“We have a chance of doing something that hasn’t been done before. We have self-belief and self-pride and as a team we believe nothing in front of us is intimidating, especially when it comes to positions,” said Mosina.

KZN Inland players were also awarded a certificate as a token of appreciation. Those who played well in the tournament were awarded trophies.
