POURING rain and thunder in Hilton on 1 October looked set to spoil the annual fun run and walk until the late afternoon when skies cleared and a blessed sunset welcomed participants to the fourth annual Laddsworth Night Fun Run-Walk.

This event attracted 755 entrants and raised R42 000 for the school funds, which will contribute towards the renovations of the school campus.

Laddsworth Primary School headmaster, Gavin Lambooy, expressed his thanks to Sue and Albé Haasbroek, Shamaine Rajah, Tracy Tamsen, John Holliday and the night fun race committee.

Congratulations to the following runners on their achievements - first place: Laurie Raubenheimer (16:33), second: Seamus Minguay (17:51), third: Brett Peckham (18:00), fourth: Luyanda Mbanjwa (18:13), fifth: Thabani (18:40), sixth: Daniel Briscoe (18:41), seventh: Ryan McKean (18:48), eighth: Verner Harmse (21:04), ninth : Todd Daniels (21:04) and Brylon Brauns. – Supplied.
