THE annual Liberty Midlands Mall’s Food Festival took place recently and featured some of the best chefs in the region - culinary artist Wayland Green from Granny Mouse Country House and Spa, Alex Poltera, Executive Chef of Fern Hill Hotel in Hilton, Lorenzo Giliomee of Fordoun Hotel and Spa, Dot Dicks, winner of the Great South African Bake Off, Cheryl Govender from the Cake House and Nessie Naidoo, author of Easy Cooking, teamed up with local celebrities.

Celebrities included Jane Linley Thomas from East Coast Radio, Terence Pillay, Rory Petzer, Msizi James, Radio Lotus’s Shirdika Pillai, Megazone Radio­’s Pierre Venter Maher, Pietermaritzburg United soccer player Kurt Leintjies and Witness news editor Stephanie Saville. The state-of-the-art fully equipped kitchen was sponsored by Aurora Interiors.

Muhammad Varachia, Liberty­ Midlands Mall centre manager, said he was thrilled with the calibre of food served by the chefs, as well as the junior kiddies zone where many tried their hand at decorating cupcakes. - Supplied.
