THE owners of SAVE Hyper have made a huge difference in the lives of the 82 Children who live at the Salvation Army Joseph Baynes Children’s Home in Pietermaritzburg.

The R100 000 donation comes after having previously supported the home through a Community Chest initiative where SAVE Hyper were donating R2 500 monthly towards food and supplies for the home.

“Our general running costs of the home and our grocery bills are one of our biggest challenges in running the home,” said Amenda Doubell, Captain of the home and it’s Director of Services.

“We run a number of donation drives through the year where we are very fortunate to get contributions for specific things such as toiletries or nappies and formula, however it is the general groceries for food and running of the home that are our biggest challenge.

“The contribution by SAVE this year towards general groceries has been a tremendous support and help to our home and our children, and we are exceptionally grateful for this generous support,” she said.

Ebrahim Kajee, director of the retailer, confirmed that they have issued the R100 000 to the home through eight monthly grocery vouchers valued at R12 500 each. - Supplied.
