Man shot dead at a bus stop in Edendale

A MAN was shot dead at a bus stop near Fishing Road in Edendale last Tuesday at around 7.20pm.

Police said the man was shot in the face and the bullet exited the back of the head.

KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said a case of murder is being investigated by Plessislaer SAPS.

“It is alleged that the body of the 35-year-old man had two gunshot wounds to the head. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The motive for the killing and the suspects are unknown at this stage,” she said.

ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 8pm.“Upon arrival, ER24 paramedics found the man with a fatal gunshot wound to his face. Paramedics assessed him and found there was nothing they could do for him. He was later declared dead on the scene.”
