SYLVANATHAN Naidoo received a new lease on life last week when he underwent an Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery (open heart surgery) at Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital.

Naidoo, who celebrated his 56th birthday on 25 October, was the first patient to undergo this specialised cardiac surgery at MMC, a milestone for the hospital.

The cardiac surgery and current building expansion is part of the transformation from humble beginnings in 1988 to a world class facility offering affordable quality health care to the greater community of Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.

Cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr Suren Naidoo, who returned to the city a few years ago in private practice, is proud to use his critical skills to perform this landmark surgery at MMC. - Supplied.
