THE Child and Family Welfare Society of Pietermaritzburg, the largest child protection organisation in the district, held a fundraising cupcake sale at Liberty Midlands Mall recently and donated R20 590 to the organisation.

This was the second fundraising cupcake sale initiative for the Child and Family Welfare Society of Pietermaritzburg for 2016. A similar sale was held in August this year which raised R12 390. The cupcake fundraising event raised R8 200.

Over 200 dozen cupcakes were sold in the two cupcake sales this year.

“The huge success of these sales was as a result of excellent team work. Special and heartfelt thanks must go out to each and every person that contributed decorative delicious cakes. The massive cake contributions contributed to our huge sum total for 2016.

“Thank you to Pick n Pay Midlands Liberty Mall for once again making this event possible. Thank you to each and every volunteer at our tables who gave up your time to enthusiastically market the wares.

“Finally to each and every supporter, thank you for purchasing our cakes and in doing so supporting us in our work,” said Nazreen Vawda, event coordinator and trustee of the Child and Family Welfare Society of Pietermaritzburg. - Supplied
