PIETERMARITZBURG model, a 2017 Miss UniWorld finalist, has again been selected as one of the top three finalists in the KwaZulu-Natal Young Achievers Awards.

Denelle Ince (21) from Northdale, was selected in the “Beauty” category and says she is the only one from Pietermaritzburg nominated in this category.

Young Achievers Awards will be hosted for the first time at Blue Waters Hotel in Durban on August 5.

Speaking to the Maritzburg Fever Ince said she first received the news of the nomination on June 20 and had to fill in nomination forms and issue supporting documents to help her get through as a finalist.

Last Tuesday she received the news she had been chosen as a finalist in the Beauty category.

“When I received the news that I am a finalist I burst into tears. I am overwhelmed and humbled. I watch awards on television. I would have never imagined an award, let alone being nominated, and being chosen as a finalist.

“I have accomplished all my dreams in abundance and owe gratitude to my parents and my grandmother for grooming me into the woman I am today.”

Ince said she is proud she will be representing Pietermaritzburg.

“Pietermaritzburg is always passed by and I am so proud to bring light to our city. It is a small town, but not small people and I am the proof of that. When I give people always tell me that God is going to bless me and He truly does.”

She encouraged young people to put God first and not to give up on their dreams.

“The only person who can make your dream a reality is you. When one dream dies, dream another one, don’t just sleep on it. Hard work and perseverance always pays off. Never let anyone talk you out of what your heart desires.

“Everyone is a masterpiece of God and filled with a purpose and promise. Never be afraid to do what you love, and love what you do,” she said.
