PREMIER Soccer League chairman Dr Irvin Khoza confirms that Senzo Meywa’s insurance payout has been received.

The Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was gunned down in Vosloorus more than a year ago, but so far his killers have not been brought to book.

A slight consolation, however, is the payout of the insurance, believed to be in the region of R5 million.

“Senzo Meyiwa’s insurance payout has been received by the League,” Khoza said at a press conference where it was also announced that PSL CEO Brand de Villiers had stepped down.

“We will be contacting the Meyiwa family and invite them to a meeting to discuss the matter.”

“The PSL has one policy with all the clubs – injury and untimely death. All the players are covered. Officials also qualify,” said Khoza.
