WHEN Wildlands offered St John’s DSG the chance to barter their entire 2016 recycling collection for a classroom of “green desks’, they jumped at the opportunity.

The school chose to forfeit their 2016 recycling rebate in order to assist Copesville Secondary, a fellow recycling school, who needed desks for their art room.

The desks are made from previously un-recyclable materials and are assembled at the Wildlands recycling depot.

St Johns DSG has consistently been one of Wildlands’s top recycling schools and participates in the Wildlands Sustainable Schools Project, supported by partners, Nedbank and Makro.

Interested businesses are encouraged to purchase or donate a classroom of desks to schools in need or in the Wildlands recycling schools network.
