MISS UniWorld SA finalist, Danelle Ince is hosting the first Little Miss Spring 2017 on September 16, at the Northdale FET College at 5pm.

The pageant is for girls between the age of five and 12 from all over Pietermaritzburg.

The fee for contestants is R50 and they can register by contacting Ince on 081 398 5552.

Ince said this is the first time she is hosting a pageant and is happy to give children a platform where they can showcase their modelling skills, and there are great prizes to be won.

“This is such an honour, as much as I am under pressure preparing for my pageant [Miss UniWorld SA] that is coming up, I still manage to do this for the children. There has never been a pageant like this in Pietermaritzburg before.

“This will be a fun family event and people will have the opportunity to experience how to host a little pageant. Every girl is welcome to enter as long as they are the correct age.”

The pageant, she said, is not only about crowning a little princess, it is also about building self-esteem.

“There are many television shows about toddler pageants and there are parents who want their children to take part in them, but there are no opportunities in Pietermaritzburg.

“I would like to create these opportunities for the them.”
