Violence must fall campaign called for

2016-10-26 06:00

I REFER to the letter titled
“Hurtful to see our suburbs like this” (Maritzburg Fever, 19
October).

Many Scottsville residents are tired of the ongoing violent protests by some university students.

Last night, we heard many gunshots from about 11pm until approximately 1.30am.

We noticed this morning, that more furniture had been burnt
at one of the university residences - just the springs and frames
were left - and a large table had been dragged out into the grounds.

We need a violence must fall campaign throughout universities. What has been achieved so far by all the

deliberate violence, and who is going to pay for the extensive damages to university property?
