Markets

The SPCA Pietermaritzburg Village Market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 12pm. Outside stallholders welcome. Phone 033 386 9267.

The Pietermaritzburg Farmers’ Market is held on Saturdays from 6am to 10am at the PMB Botanical Gardens in Mayors Walk. Inquiries: Mike at 082 886 0687.

The YMCA Sunday Market takes place on the first and last Sunday of every month at the YMCA, Scottsville, from 9am to 3pm (weather permitting). Phone Jenny at 073 500 1244.

Thursday market from 6.30am to 10am in Princess Margaret Avenue. Inquiries: Roger at 083 513 3227.

Udumo Gloria

Pams Choir and Eyesizwe Adult Choir present Udumo Gloria, music from Handel, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams and more. Music conductors are Nigel Fish and Cyprian­ Chonco with accompanist, Jacques Heyns and soloist, Andrew Butler. The event will take place on Sunday, 11 September at 2.30pm at St George’s Garrison Church, Devonshire Road. Tickets are on sale at the door for R80 each.
