THE SPCA Pietermaritzburg Village Market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 12pm. Outside stallholders welcome. Phone 033 386 9267.

The Pietermaritzburg Farmers’ Market is held on Saturdays from 6am to 10am at the PMB Botanical Gardens in Mayors Walk. Inquiries: Mike at 082 886 0687.

The YMCA Sunday Market takes place on the first and last Sunday of every month at the YMCA, Scottsville, from 9am to 3pm (weather permitting). Phone Jenny at 073 500 1244.

Project Gateway Fashion Show

PROJECT Gateway School of Fashion is staging its annual fashion show at the Project Gateway Hall on Saturday, 3 December. The show incorporates the student graduation for 2016 and will sport the theme of Fashion through the Decades. Featuring outfits dating from the 1900s through to the 1990s, the event will showcase a walk down fashion’s memory lane. Carols by Candlelight

THE Christmas Care Project featuring the Salvation Army Brass Band and Africa In Praise present carols by candlelight at GFLC Tabernacle, Longmarket Girls’ School grounds on Friday, 2 December at 6.30pm for 7pm. Admission is free. Bring a toy or a can of food and enjoy carol singing and spread the Christmas cheer. All donations go to Mama Ntombis Community Projects. Tatham Pop-Up

POP into the Tatham Pop-Up on Saturday 3 December from 10am to 4pm at the Tatham Art Gallery. Stall holders include Arusha Gallery (wooden artefacts) Eicke Schmidt (unique hand-crafted jewellery), Dawood Designs (hand-printed fabric items), Boston Terrier Rescue Group (doggie treats and blankets), Midlands Arts And Crafts Society (Macs), Mpophomeni Conservation Group (Mnandi recipe books), Peter’s Gate (natural herbal products), Phillip and Innocent Wire Work, Jemma Mitchell Jewellery, UKZN and DUT students, Thembi Nala (Izinkamba), Zama Cele (beadwork and gallery shop sale table) and Zimele (self-sustaining craft project supporting women).

Mr, Miss and Mrs PMB

ENTRIES for the Mr and Miss Pietermaritzburg 2016 are now open. Anyone between the ages of 16 to 25 can enter. This year Heat to Beat Events have introduced a new category, Mrs Pietermaritzburg and mothers are encouraged to enter. Entrants will model three outfits - casual, themed and evening wear. Annual Hospice Dance

THE Friends of Hospice annual dance will take place this Saturday, 3 December at 7.30pm at Truro Hall, Bombay Road. Tickets are R100 per couple and New Seasons Band will provide the entertainment. Dress is Smart Casual. Bring your baskets with snacks and wine.
