The winners of the the Walmer Park Baby of the Year competition 2015 were announced at a fun-filled prize giving event on Saturday morning at the Walmer Park Shopping Centre.

Once again the response to the competiton was overwhelming, with more than 600 entries this year.

After a round of photographic judging followed by a round of interviews with the finalists, the winners of the different age categories were Khatijah Mota (0-6 months), Ethan Geldenhuys (7-12 months), Daniel Heuer (13-18 months) and Sion Schoeman (19-24 months). The last category is a new one introduced for the first time this year.

A sum of R3 125 which was raised during the competition has been donated to Isithembiso Babies Home, a non-profit organization which provides a temporary safe haven for abandoned or orphaned babies.

The winning is not over! Be on the look-out for the Walmer Park “People’s Choice” Baby of the Year fun website competition, running from August 10 to 17.

Simply vote for your favourite baby picture on the website, www.walmerparkshoppingcentre.co.za. The baby with the most votes, across all four categories, will be selected as the winner and will receive a R1 000 Walmer Park shopping voucher.
