THE very popular Walmer Park Baby Competition officially kicks off this Friday, July 10, 2015 and will run for four weeks, finishing off with a final prize giving on Saturday, August 8. Entries for the Baby Competition close at 2pm on Sunday, August 2, 2015.

To enter your bundle of joy, simply visit the Walmer Park Shopping Centre in-centre studio, located in the Edgars Court, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from July 10 to August 2, 2015, between 10am and 2pm where you will complete your entry form and have your baby’s photograph taken by well-known professional photographer Debbie Louw.

The cost per entry is R50, of which R5 is donated to a children’s charity.

All photographs of the entries received will be on display in the centre for the duration of the competition; so what are you waiting for? Come and capture that winning smile!

The age categories for the competition are 0-6 months, 7-12 months, 13-18 months and this year we will be adding a new age category 19 – 24 months. All the ages are based on the baby’s age as at August 8, 2015.

Ten of the cutest finalists per age category will be chosen by our panel of judges once the competition has closed. The finalists’ photographs will be published in the PE Express on the August 5, 2015.

The 40 finalists must be available for further interviews and judging from Wednesday, August 5. Specific times will be scheduled with the parents.

Thereafter, the top 3 entrants per age category will be announced at the final prize giving which will be held on August 8 at 10am in the Walmer Park Shopping Centre’s Promotional arena where they will be awarded their titles and prizes.

Winners not present at the prize giving at 10am will be disqualified.

All of our top 40 babies and parents stand the chance of winning fantastic prizes from our wonderful sponsors Dischem, the Baby Gym, Toddlers Workshop, Edubaby, Naartjie, Francarlo Designer Goldsmith, Kodak Photo Excellence, Debbie Louw Photography, Edgars, Pick n Pay, The Matador and Toys R Us.

Only colour photographs, taken by Debbie Louw at the in-centre studio will be eligible for entry into the competition.

Parents can collect their baby’s photographs from Kodak Photo Excellence in the Walmer Park Shopping Centre from August 12, 2015, and not before.
