Choir Festival to hit high notes on September 19-20

THE Northern Areas School Choir organisation presents its annual choir festival on September 19 and 20 at 3pm at St Thomas High School.

NASCO’s aim is to promote choral music in schools.

Teachers are trained during the year as well as given support on how to man the choirs.

This year the NASO children’s choir was established and will perform at the concert on 20 September.

Tickets for the festival costs R40 for adults and R20 for children.

The junior choirs that are performing are: Arcadia Primary; Astra Primary; Alpha Primary; De Vos Malan Primary; Dr AW Habelgaarn Primary; Soutpan Primary; Sapphire Road Primary; Booysenpark Primary; Normoyle Primary; Missionvale Primary; Despatch Primary; Caritas Primary (Uitenhage).

The senior choirs are: St Thomas High; Sanctor High; Bertram High; Zanolwasi Senior Secondary School (Despatch).

The junior choirs will be performing on September 19 and the senior choirs the next day.

Tickets are available from parti-cipating schools and at the door.
