First Checkers Hyper to open at Baywest Mall

CONSUMERS in the Eastern Cape can look forward to the opening of the first Checkers Hyper store in Port Elizabeth when it opens its doors for trading in the new ultra-modern shopping centre, Baywest Mall, at 10am tomorrow (Thursday).

In celebration of this first Checkers Hyper in the Eastern Cape, four lucky PE Express readers can each win a Checkers Hyper voucher to the value of R500.

This first Checkers Hyper in the Eastern Cape is a modern one-stop shopping destination with 34 standard pay points and eight express tills.

It has a full range of consumer food and general merchandise under one roof and a dedicated area for outdoor equipment.

It will cater for consumers’ daily, weekly and monthly food and household requirements. Over and above a wide range of food and non-food lines, the store will feature various service departments that include a butchery, bakery, fish shop with sushi bar, coffee bar and a fresh fruit and vegetable department, as well as a hot and cold foods deli.

The store will also offer an extended outdoor range providing a selection of equipment for all outdoor and DIY enthusiasts, an extensive range of homeware, small appliances, pet accessories, garden and pool care, baby products, toys and stationery at affordable prices.

The in-store Money Market kiosk consumers will be able to buy Computicket event tickets, bus and airline tickets, book holiday packages, buy lotto tickets, buy airtime and gift vouchers, as well as pay telephone, electricity, DSTV accounts and TV Licences. An easy and affordable money transfer service to any Shoprite or Checkers store in South Africa is also available.

On opening day customers will be treated to a variety of superb Checkers products to taste, opening specials and in-store activities.

Algoa FM HitMobile’s Charlton Tobias will be hosting a feast of hamper give-away, great competition prizes and in-store competitions.

In reaching out to the local community R5 000 worth of shopping vouchers will be handed to the Louis Dubb Retirement Village.

Checkers Hyper Baywest will trade from 8am to 7pm on Sunday to Thursday and Public Holidays, and from 8am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday
