EXCITEMENT is at fever pitch for the first ever staging of Inner City Enduro this Saturday.

The historical monument of Fort Frederick is where the battle will take place and it will see three times world Enduro Champion David Knight taking on SA’s best at the event. His main South African rival is Wade Young who is ranked in the top 10 in the world and is multiple Roof Of Africa winner.

To get the wheels rolling, Red Bull athlete Brian Capper will be doing an extreme riding exhibition at Baywest Mall on Thursday at 6pm and also at the Bru Bar in Heugh Road, Walmer, on Friday at 6pm.

The main event starts at 1pm and is designed for maximum spectator appeal. There are two prime spectator points and they are in Valley Road along the Baakens River and at Fort Frederick where the start and finish will be.

What makes the ICE event so attractive to spectators is that after each lap, the last rider across the finish line is eliminated and the race starts again. This will ensure that there is maximum exposure at all the obstacles and on the last lap there will be two riders left with the last man standing.
