ROB Thompson and his band will be showcasing a number of original songs, along with a few covers by musicians that have influenced his song writing and guitar playing, during his showcase, Songs of Midnight, at the Music Kitchen on Friday, August 7.

Although his style is largely blues-rock-based, Thompson draws inspiration from many artists across various genres of music from blues legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Robert Johnson and Albert King to 70’s rock bands like Led Zeppelin, ACDC and David Bowie.

Songs of Midnight will give the audience an intimate glimpse into the inner musings of an artist who has written some of his most powerful compositions in the still of the night.

Tickets are available from Tempo Musik and The Music Kitchen at R80 or R100 at the door. Contact Tempo Musik at 041 581 3917 or The Music Kitchen at 041 364 1964. The show starts at 8pm
