SHAN-LEE(17) and Shanelle Stone (15), also known as the Stone Sisters, are two sisters, each blessed with unique and beautiful voices.

The sisters were born in Bloemfontein, but have been living in Port Elizabeth for the past 7 years. Other than just singing their hearts out, the girls love art. “There are a lot of things, other than singing that I like; I have a passion for drawing,” says Shan-Lee.

Shanelle loves singing but acting is also one of her passions. The girls in general love acting and drama, as they can incorporate their singing into these in some instances.

“We started singing from a very young age, taking part in concerts since prep school,” says Shanelle

“To promote themselves, the girls attend a lot of fund-raisers, where they also perform and they do lots of community work,” says Ashley Stone, founder of Ashley Stone Recording and Production Studio, as well as father and manager of the Stone Sisters.

Ashley always motivates the girls to give back to their community and fans. “The community are the makers and breakers of the girls, and it’s only their support which has brought the girls this far.”

The Stone Sisters took part in the Northern Arts Festival in March this year, and won second place, and in April the girls performed at the Port Elizabeth Splash festival.

The sisters not only perform in Port Elizabeth, but also in bigger cities like Bloemfontein and Kimberley.

In Bloemfontein, the two sisters performed the opening act for well known artists, Dr Victor and the Rasta Rebels at the Windmill Casino.

The sisters, together with their mom, dad and 7-year-old sister, transformed a room into their very own studio, where the girls can practise and write their songs.

They have been invited to take part in the International Talent Showcase (ITS) in Johannesburg on October 2 and 3. Therefore the girls are having more fund-raisers to go on the trip.

At the ITS the girls will be scouted by big companies like Tyler Perry Productions, Disney Studios and Icon studios among others.

The girls are working on their very first album and they are very busy with their fourth single “My Sister’s Keeper” which will be done within the next week.
