THE annual Algoa Motorsport Club Prizegiving on Saturday, November 28, saw the culmination of the 2015 racing calendar at the Aldo Scribante Circuit.

The club members, consisting of car and bike racers, got together to celebrate a year of growth and achievement in the club.

The Unlimited Division first place, was awarded to Jason Joshua, with Remi van den Berg in second place and third was Paul Jansen.

Kevin Redman was victorious in the 600cc class, With Trevor Wilson second; and Melt Koekemoer in Third.

Ray Wood, was the winner of the Powersport Class, with Glenton Kendrick second and Greg Browne in third place.

Winner of the Historic Class, was Ross Guscott, with William Kew second and Glenton Kendrick third.

Ross Guscott was the overall winner on points for the year, and he was also honoured for his service to motorcycle racing and to AMSC.

Irfaan Johnson and Malcolm Botes were given special awards for their achievements on the track in 2015, while Mike van Jaarsveld was awarded the dubious honour of “D*ckhead of the Year” for pranging his bike, fixing and respraying it, and then really pranging it and himself, putting himself out of contention for the rest of the season.

A highlight of the evening, was the awarding of the Victor Ludorum Trophy to 14-year-old Dominic Doyle, who came second nationally this year, in the KTM390 Motorcycle series.
