clubs Birdlife EC: The club will spend a long day birding at Assegaai trails and then visit Ngio Pans and Klipfontein dam at Kenton on 21 May. Assegaai trails offer forest, river and cliff birding. Excellent for raptors. Ngio pans can produce rarities and Klipfontein dam also. Target birds: Narina Trogon, Half-collared Kingfisher, Orange-breasted Sunbird and Cape Siskin. University of the Third Age (U3A): The next meeting of U3A will take place on 25 May at 10am in the Newton Park Library Auditorium. The guest speaker will be Brian Phipps who will give a presentation on‘Incidents at Sea’ during his career as Assistant Port Captain. Visitors welcome. )support groups Retina SA (EC Branch): The Annual Street collection will take place on 28 May from 9am to 12pm. Support the organisation in their fight against blindness by volunteering one hour or more of your time to assist at a collection point.
