)clubs Birdlife EC: Will take a trip to Elands River Valley on 25 June. This is a long route through a remote valley from Rocklands to Patensie. Breakfast is at the beautiful Sand River Dam. Lunch at Komdomo at the mouth of the Baviaanskloof. Target birds: Ground Woodpecker, Sentinel Rock Thrush, Verreaux’s Eagle, Martial Eagle. Meet at 6.30am at Schultz’s, Newton Park. Hiking: The Voetsac Hiking Club runs both weekend hikes and day walks on a regular basis. Longer hikes are held several times a year. The day walks are held on Saturdays. The club holds a monthly social meeting on the third Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the German Club, Lorraine St, Lorraine (just off Circular Drive). Zwartkops Rowing Club: Will have a holiday camp for children at Redhouse from 27 June to 1 July and 11 to 16 July from 8am to 4pm. The camp is for anyone between 10 years and 17 years who rows or would like to learn to row. The cost is R500 per week which includes lunch and refreshments. Booking by 25 June is essential. Heart and Stroke Foundation SA: Will hold a Mended Hearts support meeting on 28 June at 2pm at Life Entabeni Conference Room, Glenwood.
