ALTESAAM 18 politieke partye gaan die munisipale verkiesing in Nelson Mandelabaai op 3 Augustus betwis.

Dié inligting is vervat in die party- en kandidatelyste wat die Onafhanklike Verkiesingskommissie (OVK) onlangs bekend gemaak het.

Net sewe van die 18 partye betwis al 60 wyke in die metro. Dit is die ANC, DA, Vryheidsfront Plus, Cope, ACDP en twee nuwer partye, die Ubuntu Party en African Power Movement.

Die ander partye het hul visier op minder wyke gestel: die EFF (59 wyke), Christian Democratic Party (57), UDM (53), United Front (43), Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa (22), Patriotic Alliance (21), Azapo (20), Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (16), African Independent Congress (16), Building a Cohesive Society (15) en Alternative Democrats (8).

Die ANC het 90 kandidate op sy proporsionele lys, die DA 60, die EFF 59 en die UDM 50.

In Nelson Mandelabaai betwis 22 onafhanklike kandidate 21 wyke met twee kandidate wat wyk 11 in hul visier het.
