EP Biathlon rewards their record-breaking athletes, elect new chairman

THE EP Biathlon sporting organisation recently celebrated the many achievements of its athletes over the course of the 2016/2017 season.

The prize-giving recognised the achievements of both the top biathletes as well as those not always seen on the podium but who nonetheless work just as hard as those who do finish with medals.

The following athletes were recognised for breaking records during the season: Lisa de Villiers (Summerwood), Daniel Jacobs (Sunridge), Keira van Heerden (Collegiate), Ludgen le Roux (Summerwood) and Cody Coombe-Davis (Grey High School).

The following athletes were also rewarded for their top five positions at the SA National Championships held in Paarl on April 8:

5th – Anke Serfontein (u/13 – Summerwood Primary)

4th – Cody Coombe-Davis (u/15 – Grey High School)

4th – Freek Smith (Senior Veteran)

3rd – Karla Scheffer (u/15 – Framesby High)

3rd – Lisa Venter (u/17 – Pearson High School)

2nd – Ludgen le Roux (u/9 – Summerwood Primary)

2nd – Zanri Black (u/11 – Lorraine Primary School)

1st – Keira van Heerden (u/9 – Collegiate Junior School)

1st – Wehan Smith (u/13 – Framesby High)

1st – Shannon Scholtz (Senior – Open)

1st – Margie Saunders (Masters)

The big winners of the evening were the victrix ludorum and victor ludorum which went to Shannon Scholtz and Wehan Smith respectively.

This same evening the annual general meeting was also held.

A new committee was elected where Pierre Jacobs was elected as the new chairman of the EP Biathlon for the next season.
