NEW York Film Academy graduate, international commercials in LA, internships at production houses, and with a new single coming out soon to spoil the airways, this local lad has his sights set on stardom and is making serious strides towards that dream.

At just 20 years old Gino Lee has already achieved more than other people in the entertainment industry can only dream of.

This musician/singer/actor/model has been living his dream in the USA for the past three years, and is currently back home to pursue his music career.

A former Theodor Herzl pupil, Gino got his big break when he attended the ARTS (Applause Rising Talent Showcase) in Orlando, Florida, in 2013.

ARTS gives aspiring artists the opportunity to audition in front of industry agents, managers and label executives. At these auditions Gino received 18 call backs where he was scouted for acting and modelling, and obtained a prestigious scholarship at the New York Film Academy.

After graduating from the academy, Gino landed several roles in commercials and music videos. He also learned to work behind the scenes while doing two internships at the Compound Production House and Skylight Studios respectively.

“My time in LA was invaluable. The amount of growth I felt was immense. I am so humbled by everything I have learnt,” he said.

“I am now able to write, mix, master and produce my own music, which I love, because I think it is important to own your own content. My goal is to be an entrepreneur and to be proficient.”

Gino has just been signed by ICE Artiste Agency in Cape Town for acting and commercial modelling work. This would probably mean a move to Cape Town is on the cards.

“I am probably going to be based in Cape Town, but for now I am enjoying the time at home with my family. I really missed my mom’s cooking!”

A move back to the States is also still a possibility, but for now he will focus on music locally.

“I focused a lot on my acting while I was in LA, and my acting has improved so much. But for now I would like to develop my music in both performing and producing here at home. I realised that it is good to have a strong foundation in your home country.”

His latest single, “This Party” which he performed live on the Expresso show last week, will be released this week.

More details will be available on the Gino Lee facebook page, and on twitter, @MrGinoLee.
