DIE East Cape Street Rod en Custom Car Klub het op Saterdag, 12 November, Huis Louisa Meyburgh in Port Elizabeth besoek.

Die opwinding was baie groot. Die klublede het met hulle rooi gholfhemde ’n spesiale atmos-feer aan die geleentheid gegee. Die inwoners was nie net opgewonde oor die geskenkies en heerlike koek en tert wat elkeen ontvang het nie, maar veral om die motors te sien.

Johanna Steyl (96), een van Huis Louisa Meyburgh se inwoners, het die rit in die 1955 Chevrolet baie geniet.

“Groot was ons blydskap toe ons donasies van R10 000 ontvang het in die vorm van ’n yskas, mikrogolfoonde, strykysters en nog baie meer. Stephen Bothma, die voorsitter van die East Cape Street Rod en Custom Car Klub, het die oorhandiging gedoen en ons was oorstelp van vreugde om so baie geskenke te ontvang,” het Suzette Fourie, hoof van Huis Louisa Meyburgh, gesê.
