THE Friendly City Football Club, which has been in existence since 1968, recently received a welcome boost in the form of new soccer uniform.

The club, which is home to four teams, practices at Parker Stadium in New Brighton on a regular basis. Players’ ages range from 17 to 32. Currently, they have U/11, U/13 and U/17 teams as well as an amateur team.

Club staff work hard to help give players an alternative to being involved with crime and drug and alcohol abuse. These efforts were recognised by Hollywoodbets, Parliament Street who decided to support the club by donating new soccer uniforms.

Club President Mxolisi Manyathi thanked the company for their generosity. “The kit we received will give our guys that pride they are missing when they play. It will also build them as a team and is very needed because we depend on donations to keep our club going. Youngsters will also see our team play in their new kit and will want to join! We are very grateful for this generous support that Hollywoodbets is giving us,” Manyathi said.
