NMU public relations students to host soccer day for furry friends

2017-09-20 06:00

NINTAI Communications, a fictitious public relations company consisting of five first-year public relations students from Nelson Mandela University (NMU), will host a seven- a-side fun family soccer day to raise funds for the Animal Welfare Society (AWS) Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

“We encourage businesses, schools, churches and community members to join our soccer day. The aim of the day is to have fun while raising funds,” said Cayla Stuthard, director of Nintai Communications.

“We ask and encourage everyone to enter teams or donate food, blankets or bowls to our event.

“Every single bit will help make a difference to our furry friends at AWS,” said Stuthard.

There will be a jumping castle for the children, a prize-giving and lucky draws to add some more fun to the family fun day.

AWS volunteers will also be walking some dogs during the event to show off the dogs that are looking for a loving home.

The event will take place at Eddie Mac’s VP sports fields in Victoria Drive, Walmer, from 9am to 2pm on Saturday.

Teams can enter the seven-a-side soccer tournament by contacting Cayla Stuthard on 082 303 8083 or email nintaicommunications@gmail.com. Entry is R100 for one team and R150 for two teams, while a third team can enter free. – REPORTER
