CELEBRATE Women’s Month this Saturday, August 19, by joining the popular Diva Run.

The Diva Run is catering for all women, serious athletes, fun runners and busy moms.

To encourage the serious athletes, Irene van Eeden, Eastern Province Athletics race organiser, announced that a brand-new record incentive has been introduced with R10 000 on offer for a new Eastern Province senior record and R1 500 for age group records to registered Eastern Province athletes.

For the fun runners Van Eeden has organised an entertainment area for kids to play, while mom enjoys her run with friends. The play area will be strictly controlled with safety arm bands to give all moms peace of mind.

The popular Diva Run, presented by Eastern Province Athletics, in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, will start and finish at Kings Beach in Port Elizabeth.

The Diva Run, organised exclusively for women, includes three distances: the 10km which starts at 8:30am with a cut-off at 10am, the 5km which starts at 8am with a cut-off at 9am, and the 1.5km Kiddies Dash which starts at 7:30am with a cut-off at 8am.

Moms are encouraged to walk with their children for the Kiddies Dash or leave the kids for the short duration of their run at the well-managed secure kids entertainment area.

The cost for the 10km run is R50, while runners aged 65 and over only pay 50% of the race fee, R25. The temporary license, required only for the 10km, is R30.

Entry is R30 to the 5km walk and R10 to the 1.5km Kiddies Dash.

Registration and late entries will take place at the Kings Beach Lifesaving Club from 4:30pm to 7pm on Friday, August 18, and from 6am on Saturday.

Enter online at www.whereinpe or find entry forms at Brian Bands, The Footballer, Action Sports, Sportsworld, Sportsmans Warehouse in Port Elizabeth or Brocketts in Uitenhage.
