AS part of their Random Act of Kindness initiative, Cell C has come to the aid of an elderly man who was in dire need of a wheelchair.

Buyisile Jaji Njajula (68) has been paralysed for the past five years after suffering a stroke.

Njajula, who lives in Walmer Township, attends the local methodist church and was given an old wheelchair by his pastor, Xolile Zide.

Eventually, the wheelchair broke and Njajula was once again rendered immobile as he did not have the money to replace it.

Cell C, a proudly South African company, was so touched by Njajula’s story and decided to assist.

As the company believes in the philosophy of compassion and kindness, they launched the Random Act of Kindness initiative to respond to crises faced by people and animals.

Cell C’s Managing Executive for the Eastern Cape, Louis Burger, recently handed over a brand new wheelchair, as well as food and data vouchers to a grateful Njajula and his family.
