Society to host organ and opera concert

THE Feather Market Organ Society will present an organ and opera concert on Friday at the DR Church in Summerstrand at 6pm.

The programme will be devoted to opera music, performed by singers, instrumentalists and a choir, all accompanied by Albert Troskie on the organ and Erika Botha on the piano.

Trios and well-known arias from operas by Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, Balfe and Puccini will form part of the programme, including many favourites such as Marble Halls, Largo and They call me Mimi.

Opera music will be sung by the Eastern Cape Children’s Choir, conducted by Lionel van Zyl.

Admission is R35 per adult and R30 for pensioners. Students and learners can enter for free.
