St Dominic’s Priory Fair to offer fun for the whole family - and the dog

2016-05-25 06:00

THE annual Priory Fair offers plenty to do for every member of the family – even the four-legged friends are catered for with a fun dog walk and dog show at the Fair this Saturday, May 28.

Canine capers kick off the day’s activities with a fun 3km walk from the St Dominic’s Priory main gate at 7am. Registration for the walk is from 6:30am, at R20 per dog. All dogs must be on leashes and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Priory Grand Champion will be selected from the winners in the best pedigree, cross-breed, best condition and puppy categories, while prizes are also on offer in fun contests such as best sausage catcher, prettiest leash, best-dressed handler and dog “couple”, and the dog the judges would most like to take home.

Registration for the dog show opens at 8am, at R40 per dog, and the event starts at 9am.

Part of the proceeds of the dog walk and show will go to the PE Animal Welfare Society. For pre-registration, contact Angela on 082 493 2188.

St Dominic’s Priory pupils will host the Priory’s Got Talent show from 5pm in the school hall (R20 entrance). There will also be a beer tent, funfair rides, jumping castles, go-karts, pony rides and plenty more.

The Fair opens officially at 9am. Entry to the Fair is free, and parking is available on the school grounds and surrounding area.
