LOCAL band, The Brothers, will be performing alongside indie rock band Can of Worms at the Music Kitchen on Saturday.

The Brothers consists of Graham Beyer on the trombone, Thoba Goba on drums, bass guitarist Dave Houghton, Boet Strydom on the piano, Joe van der Linden on guitar and vocals, and Etienne Verster on vocals and percussion.

They fuse a mixture of reggae, funk and rock music into a unique genre known as Skafrica.

They have featured at several festivals, including the Mdumbi Green Fair Music Festival, Morgan Bay Footprints Festival and Hogsback Terrakaya Festival, and have been a supporting act for Jeremy Loops and Matthew Mole.

Performing with them will be Can of Worms, a six-piece band based in East London. The members are Steve Meise on drums, bass guitarist Dave Collis, Niel van Dyke on guitar, Cindy Schenk on vocals, April Bosazza on woodwind instruments and Debbie Fairley on effects and percussion.

See the two iconic bands live at the Music Kitchen on June 24 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are R100 per person. Bookings can be made on 072 994 5096.
