Volunteer teacher sought for Dora Nginza

2016-03-16 06:00

THE Dora Nginza Hospital is looking for a volunteer teacher to read stories for the inpatients.

The person should be able to keep children entertained while they are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Pamela Rubushe, Principal Medical social worker, said the children range from 3 to 12 years old.

“These children come from various backgrounds and racial groups. A volunteer who understands and speaks all three official languages would be an added advantage, but will be accepted even if she/he speaks only English and Afrikaans,” Rubushe said.

“The most important thing is that the children have access to physical activity, playing, and some form of education, no matter how minimal.”

The volunteer may start from April 1, 2016. Those who are interested may contact Matron Mancapha on 041 406 4319 or Pamela Rubushe on 041 406 4328.
