Two men were killed and another injured in a shooting in Spine Road on Saturday morning.

At 07:30 the Mitchell’s Plain police were called to the scene of a shooting.

At 09:30 People’s Post visited the scene while forensic detectives were collecting information. A small crowd had gathered. A body, covered with a blanket, lay on a grassy patch on the pavement between Paulsberg Road and AZ Berman Drive.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Jerome Voegt confirms that three men were shot at the scene.

“One man was declared dead at the scene and another died on the way to hospital,” Voegt says.

The victims were aged 26 and 30 years.

The third victim, a 32-year-old man, was shot in his head and leg and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Voegt says information indicates the men were shot from across the street.

“It is alleged that unknown suspects fired several shots from Katdoring Street, Eastridge,” he says.

At this stage, no arrests have been made and the motive for the murders are being investigated.
