The Mitchell’s Plain tactical response team has been hard at work clamping down on the drug scourge.

On Wednesday 8 July at 11:35 the unit were on a routine patrol when they received information of illegal activities, says Lieutenant Ian Williams, police spokesperson.

“[The unit] received information from the community about drug dealing and on searching the premises, officers found large bags filled with dagga in a locked room. The confiscated dagga had a total weight of about 70kg,” he says.

The officers confiscated four large 20F plastic bags, one large 20F white netted bag and one half filled large 20F white netted bag at a home in Tafelsig.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested and faces charges of possession. She has appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court
