Children can now see the city for free

2015-05-05 06:00

City Sightseeing – the company that runs the iconic red double decker open-topped sightseeing buses – has opened their annual three for one kids special.

From Friday 1 May until Thursday 15 October two children under the age of 18 will be able to travel for free with any paying adult on weekends and public and school holidays.

This applies for both the City Sightseeing bus or Canal Cruise boat.

One-day tickets cost R170 and give the ticket holders access to all four of City Sightseeing’s tours.

Buying a ticket is as easy as arriving at the City Sightseeing offices at the Vandamp;A Waterfront or 81 Long streets and hopping on the bus.

Alternatively, sightseers can visit and buy tickets online.

Another fun activity is the City Sightseeing Canal Cruise for the newly discounted online price of R35 per adult, and the kids special applies here too.

The Canal Cruise boat, which runs every 30 minutes from 09:00 to 17:00, has a canopy to keep you dry should it rain and travellers can also enjoy an onboard commentary on South Africa’s marine history in 16 languages.

Good news for grandparents is that the three for one kids special can be combines with City Sightseeing’s Pensioners Special on Tuesdays and Fridays where pensioners only play half price for both the bus and the boat. V

We have been taught that we need three meals a day in order to make it through the day and while most of us indulge in more than our fair share there is a large portion of South Africans who are living off barely enough to sustain them.
