Masjidul Quds held its 25th annual international quirah programme (recital of the Quran) this weekend.

Qari Ustadh Azraie bin Abdul Haq from Malaysia was one of the international guests who took part.

Masjidul Quds in Gatesville was also recently the venue for another recital – the Islamic Unity Convention (IUC) held its 17th youth quirah programme there on Sunday last weekend.

The programme, run by the IUC educators forum, attracts youth members from various institutions to show off their recitation skills.

Rashida Surve, a former teacher and coordinator of the educators forum, says the IUC was proud to host this programme because it provides a perfect stage for the youth to show off their talents in public.

“After all, it is the month of the youth,” she says.

Every participant received a copy of the Quran and a goodie bag
