The Bridgetown Theatre Company (BTC) will host final auditions this weekend for the revival of its musical Engliekaans.

The production was first performed in 2011 and 2012, and the BTC has decided it’s time to bring the piece back to the stage.

Engliekaans tells the story of two young people who are madly in love with each other, but because of their language barrier (one speaks English, the other Afrikaans) they have to convince their judgemental friends and domineering families that they are meant to be together.

The BTC is looking for male and female actors, singers and dancers aged between 16 and 60 to be a part of the show.

Final auditions will be held at the Bridgetown community centre, Cornflower Street, Bridgetown on Saturday from noon.

Although no experience is necessary, auditioning performers need to prepare a song, dance or monologue of their choice.

Engliekaans will be staged in October and performers will be paid. V

Call Shariefa Wagner on 074 037 1172 or visit the Bridgetown Theatre Company Facebook page for more information. No audition appointment is needed.
