Man hit by taxi while walking with son (10)

A taxi driver was arrested after a man was killed in an accident in Highlands Drive on Thursday.

A 32-year-old man and his 10-year-old son were walking down Highlands Drive on their way to work and school at 07:00, says Sergeant Cathy Meyer, police spokesperson. “While they were walking, a white taxi suddenly came from behind and knocked down the 32-year-old man. The man died on the scene.”

A 59-year-old suspect has been arrested and has subsequently appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court on a charge of culpable homicide. V
