Three hijackers did not get very far when they tried to take a woman’s car in Harvester Way, Westridge.

The woman was on her way to the mall on Friday last week and had pulled her car out of the driveway.

Police say she got out to lock the gate and when she tried to get back into her car three men approached her.

“[The suspects] held the woman up at gun point and demanded [she hand over her] car keys,” says police spokesperson Constable Zandile Marashula.

The suspects took it and drove away with her car.

A neighbour then allegedly picked up a brick and threw it at the car while it was being driven down the street.

The driver lost control of the car and collided with a vibracrete wall not too far from the victim’s home where they had taken the car.

The suspects then ran away.

No arrests have been made and a carjacking case is open for investigation.
